Children Are A Gift

White snow landscapes cover the ground
yet within such beauty is to be found.
Children building men made of snow
eyes lit up and little faces aglow.

Listening to laughter as they play
bringing happiness into the day.
Sneaking up, oh no, snowball fight
playing until the absence of light.

Rushing in with their noses red
cocoa and toast, now they're fed
"Mom your the best, hope you know
can we go back out to play in the snow?"

Children are a gift from God above
fulfilling our lives with joy and love.
Little form now asleep upon feather bed
God, thank you for her, is all that I said.

Children are a gift? if only my father heard that. He'd be crackn up... Nah, Good poem. Enjoyed the read. Thanks for sharing.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

Chris sometimes I am sure that my own dad would have questioned that, but now that I am a parent myself I KNOW they are a gift.....even when they are a trial. lol.

Indeed they are and indeed they do. I just loved this as it reminded me so much of our children when they were little. They loved to play and dig and sled in the snow. The boy's favorite activity was to dig and make snow forts.

Yes they are a gift..and I regret not having any of my own...but I have many children to fill my life and then theirs as life continues on.
