Photography

We stop time             when the
Shutter captures its image
Keep a little piece of yesterday for
Tomorrow
A segment of the past for
The future
We are immortal in our
Pictures
Sustained by mere
Clicks of a button
A here and now thing
Only forever
Camera      flash    keeping the night day in
Our memories
Allowing us to retain what
We would otherwise forget
The developing of film and the
Developing of ourselves
A unique intermingling of
Plastic and flesh caught in
The moment
         What a brilliant
         Invention

Yay!!! And what more, when you write of what your heart feels and all the thoughts that fill your soul, that too, my friend, is a brilliant invention, as poetry is the language of the gods and create and paint images like photographs! This is a wonderful debut, I LOVE IT!!! Welcome to Passions, sweet friend, may you be inspired by all of us here as we will all be inspired by your lovely words! I can't wait to read more of your lovely words, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I marvel at photographs of people long gone...their second in life captured for eternity.

Will someone look at my pictures and wonder about my life??

Thanks Noah, for the nice welcome! And Contabo--I'm sure somebody will see a photo of yours years from now and value what it contains.

Lisa,
WELCOME  TO  PASSIONS  IN  POETRY

I hope you like it here as much as I have this past month and a half (almost).
I like your poem. I really love pictures, too. They really do capture the memories, don't they?
Thanks for sharing your poem. I look forward to reading more of your work.

Lisa,

Welcome to passions! And nice poem.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

Lisa, I enjoyed this so very much this morning. On the wall in our upstairs hallway is a collage of all old pictures of our relatives dating back to my great-great grandparents who came over from Scotland. They are such a treasure.

Welcome to Passions and I look forward to reading more of your poems.

Hugs, Marti

Thanx for the compliment! I think this is a neat forum, and look forward to reading its many entries and coming upon some talented writers. If the world didn't have writers to make music of everything from love to hate to misfortune, etc. via their words, what a boring place it would be huh!?!

Thanks! I think photography, just like poetry, is a wonderful means of capturing moments and making them eternities!! How can most people prefer sports (BLARGGGHHHH)to this great stuff we call art?! Eh, guess not everyone has good taste like us huh? hahaha
