Once brilliant tapestries were displayed
upon most majestic castle walls,
marble floors held delightful dances
as orchestras played magical melodies
while Lords and Ladies conversed
hidden behind gloriously decorated masks
lively laughter was once heard
fades slowly into our memories.
The sounds of silence reign
in long lost forgotten corridors.

{Revised to meet the five words ten line criteria which was so gently pointed out to me by my mummsy   , with  much appreciated thanks.}

Donna, you met this challenge very well. As always, you wrote very well, too. I also enjoy your poetry. Thanks for sharing.

Great poem,
I enjoyed.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.
