I came here when day was done
And I've got my dance shoes on.

I did not come to play romance
I've got the look; I came to dance.

You will not get a second glance
Unless you show me, you can dance

I'm not here to take a chance
I'm on the move; I'm here to dance

There you stand in your tight pants
Sway with me; show me you dance

I don't want shows in thrust or prance
I'm in a mood; I came to dance

I will accept your prime advance
If you make me wild with dance

Don't treat me like those young infants
Experience me within the dance

I won't listen to your rants
Accept me now I came to dance

And if you're here when dance is done
I choose you, to take me home

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

You make me feel inadequate!  I can't dance a step!  Apart from some funny wiggling jerking movements... but that doesn't count, does it?

Enjoyed the read. Thanks for sharing.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

Keth beloved heart as always this is exquisite, your writing simply sings to me today, you really do light up the sky with your poetic touch. Which is just as well since you’ve just scared me witless………….

Through the veil of mist your sight
Reveals much more than day or night
Daily you show the world arrayed
In the colours here displayed
I would if I could always see
The world through your poetry
So dance my mind into the day
Dip and whirl and let me sway
Take me there to that place once more
Wrapped in your poetry to soar
There are more colours deep within you
Which paints the world in vibrant hue

Truly wonderful writing you are both wise and clever and I love this utterly utterly utterly love it……… Now shine that light over here quick there’s a thing somewhere and all I have is a useless piece of garlic

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire

(smiles) And may the last dance always be saved and every dance never a harbinger of the last dance but rather like a swan song! (kiss on cheek) This is excellent, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kethry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I've always been attracted to dance and love watching when two people move so right together, there is a magic between them that sets them apart from others.  Your words speak that special bond.

We can do the waltz
We can do the tango
We can cut a rug
With any old fandango.

We can do the rhumba
Do the foxtrot, too
I will never tire of dance
If I can dance with you

Kethry, I love your poem and the replies, especially the dancing graphics in Balladeer reply. He told me how to do that, but I couldn't figure it out. Thanks for sharing your poem.

I've enjoyed reading this dancing poem, Kethry! Reminds of some guy trying to pick a babe up at a dance floor but failed to impress the lady with his dance moves .

This line is good:

"I did not come to play romance
I've got the look; I came to dance."

a nice dance of rhyme on your part. for mine, i am stiffer than stone. i prefer a more direct approach.

It danced so beautifully off the page, Keth...
Very gracefully written

enjoyed the read and the few comments I took time to read

your poem made me think of the advice...Dance as if no one's looking!

and Balladeer is so computer savvy, wasn't his response a treat with all the graphics and a delightful comeback poem

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
