Shoes of worn leather, ventilated...too many miles.
Walking a path, centuries old...lined by trees,
by bushes,  loose rock...at the edge of a cliff.

Walk the path, the voice says to me...fear not
the darkness, the edge...

Why?  I ask in a faint voice...  Why must I walk
a path, one worn by the travels of countless others?
Worn by the winds of change, the rains of sorrow,
darkened by clouds of despair and brightened
by the glimmer of hope within rays...

Because you must...again the voice, deep, yet
soothing says to me...  Puzzling....Unsure...

My feet, tired from my travels...Shoulders weary
of life’s load....hands bleeding from countless
thorns.....a cleansing tear washing away a rivulet
of dust....showing a weathered face beneath
soft and kind eyes....Eyes of a traveler.  One
who treads the narrow path...

Take the hand of courage, the hand of compassion.
Feel the warmth of assurance and the firmness
of deliverance....hear the voice of wisdom, heed
the words...

Stumbling, almost falling, reaching out, taking the
hand.  Kneeling, a bruised knee telling the mind
of that which it feels.

Though the trials of life are many,   I shall walk.
My path though worn is new.  Each stone
beckons me.  Each corner haunts me.  Mile
after mile my travels take me.

What might lie at the end?
Will the path widen,
end or split?

Uncertainty grips the soul
like ice within the veins.

Though I stumble, though I fall,
though I have doubt and fear.
Though I thirst, I hunger, I call,
my life, my journey... is here.

Magnus darling heart and writer of the promise that is held within the breezes sigh, so often your writing touches the truth and clothes the mystery of life in words that reveal them for all to see. In this beautiful rhythm of life you have dressed the thoughts of soul in garments of glowing light. You’ve breathed your life into them and the poem lives and breathes in the readers soul.

How you do what you do so well and apparently effortlessly I do not know, what I do know is if there ever came a day where your words didn’t affect me I would know I no longer lived. And the aching sorrow of this trial the road within this affects me so deeply. This is beautiful, writing at its lyrical best, as always perfect do I love it of course I do it is utterly utterly utterly perfect.

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire

Sometimes, I'm feeling how unappreciative life is and reading this poem sort of straitens life out a bit.

very nice, questions we all have, and yes, life is here and we have to take it as it comes and deal with what we've got, live it to its fullest, whatever that may be...the great unknown.

Nice poem.. Enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.
