            Never too Late

     Waysides were ways of life
     New friends were casted-away
Never too long in one place
I owed a debt I could not pay.

Taken to places where I forgot myself
Nothing Places where winds moan your name
If I answered their call, they would find me
dice bones rattled in a Copperhead's game.

I called - she said where have you been
these last two years, I was afraid that you. . .
Stammered apologies thin as mountain wind
she felt my shame, my sorrow she knew.

Before edges of seas meet in the middle
before time is courted by tossed dirt
We tried to relive, perhaps to rekindle
gems of our times before they lost worth

It's never too late, to tell one they're missed
Never too late to beat in another's heart
her spirit, disappointed, now again was kissed
believing in vows we would never again part

     she said
"True, it's never too late, to say that you're sorry
If heartfelt with tears, they erase all the sadness
Into my arms where you've always belonged
Fills my life with fulfillment, wonder, and gladness!. . .

         . . .Son"

Donna, it was a dream i had, over and over, perhaps spawned from guilt of not keeping in touch with others like I should.  I was trying to convey the madness of 'guilt' and all that it means: forward and back in our lives.  Thanks Sweet Spirit, for reading, and don't ask me what in the flying heck i am doing posting in the middle of the day!  This is a first!!

Jeff, I don't know what you're doing posting in the middle of the day either, but I'm sure glad you did.
I love the feelings this poem of yours made me have....that it's never too late, if we truly feel sorry for our actions. And if we do, there is usually forgiveness found.
