~*Ode To A Paperclip*~

Oh paperclip, thou holdeth parchment fair
In gentle grip, lest roughness cause a tear
Sweet word and rhyme, held safely in thy care
Thine arms securely wrapped 'round treasures rare

Though, staples with their jagged teeth may scar
Thou doth not puncture, nor thine wards do mar
Thine champions doth travel from afar
To offer cherished wares and much dinar

For they doth worship thine protective charm
How thou doest keep all lambskin safe from harm
And ne'er shall cause good reason for alarm
Ill trepidation wholly thou disarm

Thus, I remain forever in thy debt
Oh paperclip, thine aid I shan't forget

Vicky,

I really liked this cute sonnet. One never thinks about how much work a simple paperclip has to endure in its lifetime. Could be quite stressful if a paperclip were able to feel stress. LOL. Thanks also for your help with my "O" words yesterday.

Ah yes, I really really really did enjoy this, V!!!!!!  Even with all of the computers in offices and homes, there is still a use for the paper clip!!!!   Some things are just indispensable......Great one here!!

Pen how you truly feel...
it is a safety-valve for the soul!

(giggles in delight) Yay for paperclips, hip-hip hooray! (smiles) They are such wonderful things indeed, though the way I keep my poems organized is by getting a  3-ring binder for every year, hole punching the sides of the hard-copies, and alphabetizing the poems in them! (sigh) This is excellent, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Vicky, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Very enjoyable sonnet. Who says all posts should bear the weight of the world or drip romantic? Beauty and humor are right in front of us.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

Thanks everyone.  I have to give credit to
Wind for the paperclip idea though.  She
posted a challenge that included a paperclip
as the subject.  This poem doesn't fit the
other guidelines of the challenge, but that
is where the paperclip idea came from.

Dawn...LOL...it does put a different light on
them doesn't it?  Glad you enjoyed.

Sunnyone...so true.  The paperclip will never
go out of style.  Thank, my friend.

Martie..glad you enjoyed this.

Marge...thanks, friend.  *Huglets* back at ya.

Karilea...smiling back.  Thanks, friend.

Noah...thanks so much for the enthusiastic reply.
You always make me smile, my friend.

JM...I honestly have NO idea where this one came from,
but thanks so much for 'kick butt poem'.LOL
You just made my day, my friend.
LOL @ your suggestions for future writings..LOL!  Too funny!

RSWells...thanks so much for such a kind reply.
Glad you enjoyed this.

garysgirl...really glad you enjoyed this.
Thanks for reading and for including it in your library.

Gentle Spirit...very good question...glad you enjoyed.

Mikey...you've made me smile with that reply.
Thank you, my friend.

Rhonda...once again, you're too good to me.
Thanks for reading and I'm glad you like it.

Wind...LOL...you do not sound like an idiot,
and I appreciate you putting the thought of
a paperclip into my mind.  Glad you enjoyed.

paladin...ROFL!  You're so right.  Thanks for
reading and for the laugh.

Connel...thank you for reading.  Glad you like it.

Sharon...I've missed being able to write, and
it feels good to be back.  Glad this made you smile, my friend.

Jen...thanks, friend.  I'm very glad this gave you a smile.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Alex...thank you muchly.  Glad you like!

Gale...LOL..yep..I'll take what ever inspire
I can get these days..lol.  Really glad you enjoyed.

Deb...thank you, my friend.  It's good to be thought of.

Wind...hi again.  This poem doesn't match the
requirements of your challenge, so I didn't
present it as such.  The paperclip did, however,
come from your challenge, and for that I thank you.

Thanks again, everyone!
Hugs and much love to all,
~Vicky

Great work, Vicky... I am glad to see that thou understandeth the old english thing now... hehe   You worked well within the strict scheme of rhyme, for which I applaud you.  I greatly enjoyed reading this.

Hope I will be seeing more of the sort.  Post in TEEN once in a while, would ya?
