I thought it would never come
not from an outside source
not from a world where a love
was put upon with force.

I gave up on this utopia
this place where contentment lies.
I looked the other way
to hear the futile cries.

But life is funny in it's flow
corners sometimes hide
a friend, a confidante
to walk along beside.

So with a flashlight strong
I searched religiously
for the hand that fit in mine
a friend to walk with me.

When within a spotlights glare
there, in the corner was
joy, contentment, and a peace
along with a special love.

Friends who touch my heart
friends from near and far
all who joined in heart now shine
like the brilliant stars.

Content in the world I stay
with those who share my song
to think that they were waiting
in the corners all along.
