~ * ~

In days of yore, on distant shore,
Merry minstrels made their way,
Blowing flutes, and plucking lutes,
'Twas a fanciful display.

As jesters pranced, their merry dance,
Children laughed with mirthful glee,
For what they saw, filled them with awe,
To behold such pageantry.

As all drew nigh, with spirits high,
To join this revelry,
Dogs nipped at heel, as children squeal,
'Twas a merry sight to see.

Fresh baked bread, filled their head,
As villagers gathered 'round,
Vendors shout, "Come buy my stout!
It's the best brew in the town!"

Both knight and serf, gave of their worth,
To honor one another,
Come once a year, in this time of cheer,
Each became, the other's brother.

As village folk, did laugh and joke,
In joyful merriment,
All was well, in their derry-o-dell,
On this day of sweet content.

~ * ~

Sunshine ~

Thank you for thanking me! It doesn't seem to matter how often I reread a poem before I post it, I'm always overlooking typos.

I changed a few of the words as well. Nothing like rewriting a poem after it's been posted! egads!

Glad you still enjoyed the original version before I made these edits! haha

Donna ~

One of the things that I enjoy about writing poetry, is that I seldom know what I am going to write about. I may have an idea in mind, but I usually end up with a poem that came out of nowhere. It's kind of a surprise to me what I'll end up with. Such was the case with this poem. ---where on earth did this one come from?!? tehe

Well, it's not exactly "lore", 'cause I sort of made it up. I don't know if there ever was such a day where knight and serf joined as brothers in blitheful harmony. tehe

Poetic license sweet Angel, you can write what you like, and now it's lore.

This was titled "In Days of Yore". How silly do I feel now, you didn't say lore at all.

(smiles) Yay!!! Oh Linda, I wish I could have lived back then just for a while and enjoyed those merry times, though of course I still am happy here too despite the sadness in the world with you and all my friends and Joanna! (kiss on cheek) This is gorgeous, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

P.S: Look back on Page 3, you inspired a special poem I wrote, yay!

It must be so much fun to be a member of a medievel re-enactment group. I just went back into my poem and fixed it up it several places and rewrote some lines. It seems to flow more smoothly now. I'm glad you enjoyed it even before my edits! hehe

Sir Toe ~

Thank you!  I love reading and fantasizing about those bygone days. I have even written several Elizabethan sounding songs and insturmentals for the guitar. I find that sort of music both comforting and stimulating.

I'm pleased that it pleased you, but I have since gone back and rewritten parts to make it flow better.

I do not know whether this is a recognized form or not. It just came out that way. I have actually gone back in and rewritten some of the lines to make them flow better.
