Fire Flies

My mind is full of fireflies
Sighs and dyes of colored skies
And though I sit a rocking chair
My mind is clear and well aware.

The fireflies are phantom lights
The winking is a wiles delight
And I am dreaming in the noon
Waiting the magic of the moon.

For when the moon spins its web
And when the tide begins to ebb
Silver laces through the trees
Angels dance upon the leaves.

And I am caught in fantasy
Caught within the ecstasy
The buttercups and butterflies
The loft and color of the sky

I always stay a minute more
Before I wake to infinite bore.

Mr. Seymour, I love the way your words are flowing in this poem. When reading it, I almost felt like I was singing. I enjoyed it.

(smiles) Oh Seymour, I just love the way the words you write flitter like fireflies and sprites and reflect comely rhymes, this too reminded me of when I was a little boy chasing them! (sigh) This is gorgeous, sweet friend, you always illuminate these pages with fairy dust, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

The last two lines caused me to laugh right out loud.  Compared to this wonderful fantasy, that is how it is!
I loved the angels dancing on the leaves.

Thanking you for taking me away a for a moment.... really did like this a great deal.

Warm Regards,
Pat

I lay in bed a minute more
for the essence of night's lore
then in twinkle of sun's rise
I emerge, and fire flies...

oops!   Bet you didn't think
I'd see so much in morning's blink!

Seymour, it's very difficult for me to believe you could "wake to infinite bore," with a vision such as yours for your environment.

Beautiful poem until that unbelievable last line.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Life is full of contrasts...I find in life there strong blast, but I've never seen a firefly, except in poem by Sy-guy.

Mr. T., I'm in a rather silly mood today--- and here you've written yet another wondrously wonderful sonnet, and I'm wondering (I love alliteration), if this rocking chair is the same chair you wrote of in another of your poems---you know --the one where you were naked and had your legs up in the air?!? ---or did I make up the "naked" part?  hahahahaha

luvyalotz dear sonneteer

Very Nice Poem.. You are gifted, Just as all of us are in one thing. But you, you are truly good at poetry.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

Brings back memorys of "lightning bugs" in a mayonaise jar with hole punched in the top.I even thought putting some grass in the jar would keep them alive. They died slowly as their glow became fainter and fainter.Ever since then I hate to see living things kept in enclosures.I would rather see them floating over an open field.Sending out their lighted calls of love.
