This poem should be about you.
Can I mention you without eye?
No.

Can I mention you without "I"?
Not to be.

Your eyes hold shades of your sight.
They are frames, sill to edge,
and I ...
no touch can be given.

And my ...
No lips press to curtains.

There is no latch,
no pane,
no wind.

No night pressing olive fingers
and facile entries
to the ripeness of your gaze.

The taste of fruit,
grape seeded wine.
I cannot ...
No cold rooms
to be had.

In truth,
there's warmth.
A history of sleep
in the sink of down,
the silt of
dawn.

The windows grow gold with answer.

This bed is a question,
missing your mark.

Thank you both. Inspired by Elizabeth Cor, Lori, and the Cocteau Twins.
