Sometimes it's hard to reconize my face,
I look in the mirror,
Think my soul's in the wrong place
Sometimes you've just gotta look inside your self
And say it out loud......

I'm a different person than the girl you see,
The face and body that I'm in,
Don't belong to me,
But I'll understand
If you can't see,
Who I am,
Cause i'm not me!

Hard to understand why we look the way we do
Wish I had magic vision,
So I could just look through
And see the way people really are
Maybe then they would see.....

I'm a different person than the girl you see,
The face and body that I'm in,
Don't belong to me,
But I'll understand
If you can't see,
Who I am,
Cause i'm not me!

It can be so hard not to leave your soul behind
Sometimes I can't stand this world,
Need to let myself unwind
But if people understood
this would be unnessicery...

I'm a different person than the girl you see,
The face and body that I'm in,
Don't belong to me,
But I'll understand
If you can't see,
Who I am,
Cause i'm not me!

No, I'm not me

I believe I read somewhere in here where you said you are 13....you write with heart and truth far beyond your years.
I always felt the same as the person in this mirror..we do have to learn to see both sides...behind the mirrow as well.
It takes time...but I have a good feeling you will get there.
take care

and I never saw blue like that before.

Wind, --I even like writing your name--as you know I'm a lover of windy days, windstorms, windswept pines...---and a lover of your poetry. It's like a ride on a magic carpet--sometimes you take us flying high, then you swiftly swoop down toward the earth--I always feel movement with your writing, even if it is just about  you standing in front of a mirror pouring your heart out.

Thanks to both of you, your replys were very sweet and very appreciated. Unfortunately, this was not the original poem, I lost it and had to make some of it up, but I am glad you guys enjoyed it.

(sigh) Oh Liz, I know that feeling ever so well too, I feel in some way we are never ourselves and the spirit within us is the real us longing to be free as we go through the trials of life changing and peeling like onions! (big hugggssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is excellent writing, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Liz, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Wind~
This is an extremely well written piece.
You've expressed these emotions so well.
I have to echo JM...your writing is far
beyond your years.  You have quite a talent.
VERY nicely done.

Liz, it looks like everyone here feels like a do.....a very good,
well-written poem...and that you write with emotions way beyond your years.

Liz,

This is one of my favorite of your poems. Well written, but content touches how many feel, even with age and emotional growth...

And, with your poetry writing, you allow us to see the 'real you'....
sensitive, wise, compassionate, and empathic, all forms of an enchanting, charming person.

Hugs and warm regards, Pat
