Fields Of Forever

We embark upon a journey
as we put our pasts behind,
seeking the future

a destination yet         unknown.

In the shadows of what is yet to be
we travel           searching
for the tomorrow
of our dreams,
walking   not one
in front    or behind

rather side by side.

We journey
over the valleys and hills    of life
struggling
over seemingly unsurpassable mountains
finally reaching    the top.

Our hearts beat as one
while we gaze upon the horizons
of eternity.

Together we shall face the rivers
that would consume us,
and we shall triumph
over the raging waters
as we crawl upon the shore
ragged and wet
having faced   life  at her best
but still we remain   standing.

Take my hand and know   in your heart
that I will walk these
~fields of forever~
holding you cherished always

This is very touching and heartfelt, Donna.  Hugs, my friend.

The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn

Karilea, I don't think that there is any way to be
but side by side, unless of course we feel that
we can use the time being lead or that they
wish to be lead for awhile........and that is
a different story all in itself.  Thank you
and hugs to you.

SE, I am glad that you enjoyed the rambles.
You bless me with your words and for
that I am grateful.

Robert, and in return I say thank you
and you are welcome.  I am glad
that you enjoyed.

Donna, this is my favorite part, though I loved it all, as usual with your poetry. Thanks for sharing.
