Bacon sizzling as the smell flows
from room to room...
Daylight breaks the darkness in soft
hues...

Coffee perking slowly in a methodical
rhythm Juan would be proud to hear.
The clink of the cup waits patiently.

Sounds of a distant shower...
Humming, singing...a tune almost
familiar.

The smell of toast broiling, butter
melted and bubbling to crispness.
A watchful eye must prevent the
burn....

Eggs popping lightly....over easy
as hash browns turn golden and
await a shower of salt...ever so
lightly...

All of these....such morsels to
savor...waiting.....warm...
Will they remain warm....or
will the heat of passion,
a lingering shower...

That is what microwaves are
made for....to warm things
up...when others cool...

A new day arrives....as
a light breeze rustles silk
curtains....and hands
rustle silk....and lace..
again..

Delicious! Better for your heart to start over with egg whites and turkey sausage...but sure sounded good...both!

(smiles) Oh Barry, this is wonderful, sweet friend, mmmmmmmmm...I miss having a hearty breakfast like that, along with soy milk or grapefruit juice! (big hugggssssss) I love the microwave metaphor here, sweet friend, and then everything is best if simmered on low once fully cooked, I love this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

Barry, this is really very good. You used the words expertly to create an atmosphere and create a scenario that comes to life in the mind of the reader. I can smell the bacon....

Barry, I love the way you did this. I was hearing the
sounds of the breakfast cooking, smelling the aromas
of the coffee and bacon.........THEN.......
OOOPPPPSSSS!!!!
It all had to be warmed up in the microwave
(the breakfast that is...HaHa!!)
