          Mexican Sage

It was two years ago when I passed by
myself and was touched
by just a whisper across my arm
as I studied discontent

Discontent is studied in the dark
down the ladder around the curve
of no moon

At the time I scoffed at leaves
dry with the end of autumn
curled there in my path

and then I was struck by a feather

somehow it dusted me
and I could feel my attitude fall
in brittle pieces around me
and when I stepped on them
what I felt was joy

Loved that crunch of joy that can be found threaded through all your work.

Martie, this is so unique and special!

I admire your ability to move words and concepts in a circuitous route, through my ofttimes, linear brain!

MMM, just wipe the dirt and grime of your past away. I dont remeber where I found this, but "Everyone has a good and bad side, but some people have dirty windows. You just have to wipe the dirt away and let the light shine through to them." It is evedent that you have done that. Your poem as a great inspiration to me, I think it might help me Think of my next poem...

My favorite part was.....

"And then I was struck by a feather

somehow it dusted me
and I could feel my attitude fall
in brittle pieces around me
and when I stepped on them
what I felt was joy"

Absolutely beautiful, dear friend. Thank you.

He took my words - honest he did, so all I can say is ditto Mike, and isn't it the truth?  Wise this was in beauty too.

Sometimes all it takes is a gentle, kind touch to change our attitudes.  Nice picture, nice You!     *hugs*

the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn
