I am dark.
I am light.
I am a changeling--
twilight.

My lips droop
then rise again--
the reckoning
of days' begin...

I am JANUS.
I fan faces
misconstrued--
of both--
love-spaces
eating
little tiny bytes
so little to
distinguish smile
from the drone
of memory...
I grind my teeth
within my sleep--

BASTARD....
(tho I gave you birth)
Hazard
of this love of earth...

I pray that you were here with me
and we could speak reality--
I drop my jaw in light shadow--
knowing I've opaque in full
of all the colors' jubilee'd...

I nod my head in gray--
concede...
and chew the grain
between my teeth
wishing I had different place--
Janus...I am...Janus-faced.

I sure think this suits you as it seems you always appear (at least to me in my time zone) when the moon appears, but it's sure a good thing you didn't pick Epimetheus, that is a hard one to rhyme with You rose to this challenge with the serious side of you that is for sure.

A smile costs you nothing so makes someone rich.

Perhaps...it is hypothemus
me and Epimetheus?
Perhaps it's true
we could not rhyme
there will be
another time
where shadows rise
where light will beg?

Perhaps I'll just
go on to bed...

but more likely...I will NOT.

I love the spirit of all those who took on the Two Faces challenge. You have so many facets to you, perhaps Three Faces of Serenity, I mean, Eve would have been more appropriate in your case---no, that still would not have been enough faces.

--I've got it, the Sybill challenge---I think she had 9 faces!

This poem is a delightful addition to the  this challenge.

okay that does it - 0ut comes the "Three of Me" and I bet there are more than three if I really looked, being a Gemini - there are more than twins inside of this Canuk for sure.  Serenity - you know what - I loves ya both!

You are more light than dark..you've changed since you joined Passions you know. But both faces are beatiful and together make up the total YOU.
