Eagle feathers wafting down
upon the tears of yesterday,
soft, Moon above shedding
blood-red tears of history.

~~~~~~*****~~~~~~
Remember,
the feathers sing...
Remember when the land
was ours, when the buffalo
roamed free, when we danced
over the prairies,
through the forests
lush and green.
Remember the songs
of our hearts, the shawl
dancers fancy dancing
their dance of courtship.
Remember who we are.
Remember who we were.
~~~~~~*****~~~~~~

As Eagle feathers waft down
upon the tears of today,
a soft, Moon above shedding
the tears that the Creator
has shed for all those things
that were taken away from us.

Not only is the inherent message in your poem stirring, but the manner in which you conveyed it, is as well.

I enjoy reading your poetry on native culture and nature.

Ivy Rose - I would have loved to been back then, before it was taken away, even for just a short visit.

Ivy rose, I love to read poetry, too, about Native American Culture.
This was written from your heart and done with such elegance.
I love it. Thanks for sharing it with us.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Ivy, this is so very wonderfully said, sweet friend, I too am saddened that my ancestors lost so much and were part of a huge exodus! (sad sigh) You speak of the compassion and sympathy so well, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ivy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
