(Here is a re-post in inspiration of Dea-Di-Amore's "Florence" and Karen's reply "Still Remains" to her poem. )

Quattrocento
By: Noah Eaton
1/10/02

I’m welcomed to your City of Flowers
I’m walking down your alabaster bird-hatching streets
I’m polishing the bronze doors to my dreams cathedral
Opening them before you, my sweet darling

Come, my love, I’ll take you into Ghiberti’s workshop
Together we’ll re-establish the grace of Donatello
We’ll etch our loves fantasies into statue form
Decorate our hearts with the beauty of loves art and soul

Ever since you have revealed your love to me
Timeless visions have been coming back easily
You’ve brought the Renaissance to my heart
In loves arms, we’ll relive Quattrocento

You’ve renovated all my empty walls into frescoes
You have given my dreams perspective
My skies are now our fantasies Sistine ceiling
Myriads of lovers dreams come true filling each horizon

Lay me down in your garden of roses under your mulberry trees
I’ll kiss your luscious moist cranberry lips
We’ll strum eternities in G-minor
Basking in the heavens afterglow we’ll cherish

Ever since you have revealed your love to me
Timeless visions have been coming back easily
You’ve brought the Renaissance to my heart
In loves arms, we’ll relive Quattrocento

Like Van Eyck, you have braided rainbows in my skies
Like Mona Lisa, you always make me sigh
Hold me, my love, hold me forever
I’ll make you happy every day and night
Your love is so divine…

Ever since you have revealed your love to me
Timeless visions have been coming back easily
You’ve brought the Renaissance to my heart
In loves arms, we’ll relive Quattrocento
Forever and ever and ever…
I will always love you…

A well deserved re-posting, as it screams to the heart to be read and appreciated.
Line after line of gossamer wording
bound in heaven-sent loving words.
You are the Master of this, Noah.
Few come close to writing with this much kindliness.
Your buddy, working his tail off,
Jeff

Noah...I feel like Ive been there now...

wonderful imagery and vocab in this...you paint us a portait and take us on a tour.

have you really been there?
You write it as if you have. I loved all the reference to the names of the cities and sights.
very cool.
