Hold me
Earth
Hold me
Tight
I am
Eternity
In essence
In Time
I am yours
Hold me
Lover
Friend
Till the past is Forgotten and i rise again

The very deep did rot: O Christ!
That ever this should be!
Yea, slimy things did crawl with legs
Upon the slimy sea.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Personally, I am registered for cremation.
Can't stand the thought of being hemmed in like that.

But I understand your poem's message.

We sleep until the resurrection. There are no worries nor sufferings nor pains during that sleep. So some view it as a time of rest and if in extreme agonizing pain, such as the biblical lot was in, some may even long for it.

Job 14:13
"If only you would hide me in the grave [ 14:13 Hebrew [ Sheol ] ] and conceal me till your anger has passed! If only you would set me a time and then remember me!

Enjoyed!
God bless!
Thanks for sharing!

I like what you did poeticaly ..... the brevity, the descriptiveness ....but I don't know that our beliefs coincide.

... and they sent him home happy ... one hundred percent.

The construct of this is clever---it falls down the page like shovels of earth--

and I adore the spirituality in this piece, WP...
