I close my eyes
As I listen to the rain
Falling outside on my window pane
The sound caresses my senses
I can feel chills running up and down my spine
God, I pray unto you
Between sobs of dispair
Let the rain
Wash away my pain
I'm wondering
How naive could I have been again
To let my feelings in
I wanted to close that door
I so desperately didn't want to
End up back here on the floor
Sprawled in memories
Sinking deeper into depression
All because of someone's poor display of affection
He told me
Like many others before
That he thought he knew what I needed
Apparently he turned out to be more than just conceited
Just tell me Jesus
Tell me what I'm doing wrong
Are you sure that it's not me giving the wrong impression
That I'm always going to be waiting around 24/7
Am I not a human being
Instead of a seven-eleven!?
Just let your angels
Hold me right now
As I'm cradling back and forth
Ease these cliches
Ease these assumptions
Tell me everything is going to be okay
I just want to allow myself to love again
And no longer allow myself
To fall prey to another's deception
I don't know how much stronger I can be
When my soul always ends up
Strapped, bound and gagged to this bed of shame
Longing to be washed away
By the rain..

Let me start off by saying, I had been missing you and your poetry.

This heartbreaking poem near had me to tears. How painful for you (if you're writing from personal experience).

~ sending you some warm angel hugs

love the biting humour in that line, hugs powerful out pouring, enjoyed the read and remember every rain storm has a rainbow.
