Expectations Before

been through life
never being able
to live up
living expectations
that never
meets standards
that looking in
one would
expect not to see
always tring to please
the ones that can never be
till one day realizing
that i am a person
which can be able to
able to be me
with ups and downs
till we have
really meet
with you
allowing me
me able to be
allowing you
to be one
no matter
what the outcome
it is forever there
to let the soul
have happiness
that never exsisted
before

Bernie, dear friend. I could feel your
heart being poured out in this poem. It's much
better to just be yourself, than to try
to be what others may want you to be.
I tried that, too, for many years. One of
the many, many reasons that I love my Gary
so much, is that he loves me for myself...
just because I'm "me". That means so much to
me. If you haven't already found this kind of
acceptance with someone, I hope that you will
too, dear Bernie. Well, I didn't mean to get
so long-winded, it just brought back so many
bad memories of when I was trying so hard to
please someone and all my efforts just didn't
seem to be quiet good enough. I hope my reply
isn't too long for you. Good luck, Bernie.
Love To All,
Ethel

Thanks,,, i take it u have been there done that.

now ethel
so kind your words, and no your not long winded..  I don't even know where some of this is coming from from me.  Just lately have i really started writing again.... Was really in a low for a while.  But then back to here putting thoughts in black and white just sometimes help.. And yes I have found the one that allows me to be just that... ME

Thanks again.

Bernie
