I can taste the heated wait
where winter does not follow autumn;
the weather here does not touch
in fragile crystals, wet remains.

With every call, my love, we wait.
Breath is one unsubtle countdown.
The edge of tears, who ever knew
their remains would spread reminders?

My room is cracked now at its base
from a temblor (I was away).
But give us a moment alone, to wait.
Another will come. That always remains.

The plane will be pregnant with standing lines
teeming to escape the earthbound tarmac.
Passengers will walk their cases inside.
I will wait, for you to remain.

Michael, this is beautifully written. It has a twinge of sadness in it to me. Thanks for sharing.

Love To All,
Ethel

I can always expect an interesting write from you that has me reading it over again. This was no exception.
