I am forced open
along cracks
invisible in unseeing night
laid bear by unforgiving light

An open wound
A shattered heart
seen from within
a horror not in part

a distance binds me
lonely here stands
a man destroyed
a child unmasked

The very deep did rot: O Christ!
That ever this should be!
Yea, slimy things did crawl with legs
Upon the slimy sea.

=========================

the child has to heal before the man can feel whole ... the poetry plays a role in finding some of that healing.
As always, your words touch me P.
