Asleep in angel arms with not an utterance of form
Beneath my head the heartbeat of invitations warm
Chiffon so sweet to call me in dreams refused conceal
To lay upon the wind and rest each tendering ideal

And weary of the flight of life and restless of the null
Beneath my feet in autumn colors deepened to the full
Whipped sweetly in a pillow to meekly rest this soul
To rise into the skies of yellow thinking time to toll

Asleep content in every, to breeze the night in calm
Beneath my hand a pure pulse from fingertip to palm
Vanilla scented comings of cherry appetites
To nestle in the images of promissory flights

Asleep in emerald deep with not one stir to turn
Beneath my heart a lesson gold in every one to learn
Sheered in films with silken mask of finest prophecy
To lay upon the wind and rest throughout eternity

Thanks for sharing.

quote:
I peeked in to say goodnight,
And then I heard my child in prayer:
"And for me some scarlet ribbons,
Scarlet ribbons for my hair . . ."

All the stores were closed and shuttered,
All the streets were dark and bare . . .
In our town, no scarlet ribbons,
Not one ribbon for her hair . . .

Lyrics by Jack Segal, 1949

Now guess what song won't leave my soul for the rest of the day...

thank you for this lovely...

Again you master words, sweep them up into this delicious form, and color them with images of wonder...I really like the way you write!

wonderful piece, I especially  like the 2nd line

I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

So warm and tender. Thanks you for this warmth, as it feels as cold outside here in the Denver area as it did this time last year in the interior of Alaska.
(And thanks to Sunshine for sticking that tune in my head for the rest of the day! It is an old favorite!)
