“MOONLIGHT RAINBOWS”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
I wonder why I feel like I do at times,
when I walk with you holding hands…
It’s a feeling I have deep inside me,
my beating heart calls, as it expands…
A path we follow through the forest,
listening to sounds of the warm night…
All I want is to hold you close again,
for you to whisper, things are alright…
Time seems to flow slower, as we stroll,
gentle whispers shared, words spoken…
Faces meet tenderly, one to another,
vows to each other, never to abandon…
Moonlight rainbows seen in the dark,
into the evening they seem to stay…
See the shadows gather into darkness,
yet fear not, for I will not leave away…
Very nicely done Bill.  A different cadence
from your norm,  but very nicely done...
Like the style and the words..
Your poem was enchanting. It gave me the same feeling as beetoven's moonlight Sonata. A comforting and thoughtfull peice that leaves the reader pondering.
Standing alone on the terrace
her face lit by a single lamp
rain splashing her gently
her dress transparent caused by damp
watchful eyes appraised her from inside
as she and the rain danced as one
the silhouette the tapping of her heels
synchronised beating of his heart had begun
completely unaware of the vision she made
she lifted her face to the light
he glimpsed a smile and heard her laugh
turning to face him - he felt passion ignite
The voice telling him to take this chance
he opened the door with almost no sound
as they moved together and began to dance
orchestrated raindrops splashing the ground
A single owl whispered in the night air
bodies locking - retreating then advancing
silk slipping off leaving her bare
In the moonlight, shadows dancing...
I do hope you don't mind, but your poem was so enchanting :-)
Don't ask me where I'm going, just listen when I'm gone and far away you'll hear me singing softly to the dawn.
I knew I'd like this one from the title... what a beautiful image that presents! *S* And I was right... this is just lovely. *S*
RG: That's too beautiful to be hidden in a response. *S* And it's so good to see your words!
I like the idea of moonlight rainbows...very original, and very lovely thoughts.
Pen how you truly feel...
it is a safety-valve for the soul!
Ahhh, BC, you get my heart pumping in the morning. This is, as are all your romance poems, delightful.
Hugs this bright and glorious Fall day.
There is a peacefulness and security translated through this poem that I found comforting.  The images of walking through the woods, moonlight and a voice saying that everything's alright...perfect.
No matter how good looking she is... someone, somewhere is glad she's gone.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful words. Enjoyed.
I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.
