Amber walks along.
She pulls a suitcase from the water.
Dripping with no handle,
a faux black leather bundle.
She wonders what's inside it
but she cannot find an entry.
She drops it in the river;
knowing not that others
did the same.

She is lady of the curtains
for she loves the touch of windows.
Yet she only answers
to lady of the candles,
for she wears her hair in faint light
like flowers of the sun
and when you try to reach her
she is gone.

Like smoke above the mountain,
like silver in a fountain,
like arrows in a letter,
like knives that fall unfettered.
And she smells of clover
though it is October.
And though I call her name
she is gone.

Sad poem. But I still like it.

Cold hands means a warm heart

Very mysterious, Mike...seems like it is
just the beginning of something more...

........I can hear you speak

Thanks, everyone. I fell asleep listening to Songs of Leonard Cohen last night, and I guess Suzanne really stuck in my mind.
