I’ll Not Share

I’ll share with you the happy times
The moments of love wrapped in rhyme
The taste of honey that sweetens me
Those moments of love’s eternity
All those times when I’m full of hope
Even those times I find it hard to cope
I’ll share with you my heart’s desire
And what fills my soul with raging fire

I’ll share the triumphs of my own war
What I dream, what I wish for
The moments when I’m held spellbound
The thrill I get when I hear love’s sound
I’ll share the music I dance too
Share the joys of being with you
The touch of truth that comforts me
All the thoughts that set me free

But I’ll not share the chilling pain
Nor share with you the icy rain
The way my soul will bend and bow
You’ll not see my teardrops flow
My crying I will do in privacy
I’ll not let you try to comfort me
No I’ll not share the crying time
The pain of loss that alone is mine

My soul rings with light’s clearest tone
But my crying I would do alone

Marsha

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire

But love within a sincere heart
Seeks not to be all sorrows spared
Open your life, both good and bad
For trouble's halved when it is shared.

A lover true would never ask
To only see a smiling mask.

I really like the poem, Marsha... even though I think someone who really loves you would want to share ALL of you and not just the sunshine. *S* Beautiful write! *S*

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Marsha, this is a wonderfully touching poem, and I too agree with Suthern; it hurts to bottle up the grief inside for so long so share it with your best friend and you will feel much better! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Marsha, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Fantastic writing, Mushy One! I agree with the sentiment completely. It's good when poetry is based on hopes, desires, dreams, fantasies and things to make people smile and share their happiness with you. Write on, dear mush-filled one!!!

Not even with me, now I'm crushed. I understand the need for privacy dear heart and I respect that but even so...

Marsha, I understand your wanting privacy. I know from the poems I write, some may think I don't keep  ANYTHING  private, but I do have some emotions inside that I very seldom  share with  ANYONE  besides  my Gary. I do hope that you have someone special that you can share even that other part with. Anyway, I'm very happy that you shared this beautiflly written poem of yours  with  all of us here.
Love  to  All,
Ethel
