***************
Congratulations, Lula!
You've pulled yourself up
by your own bootstraps,
you have stepped up
from peanuts
to the Presidency,
without stepping
on the masses.
May you walk tenderly over
your beloved Brazilian soils
with compassion,
coupled with intelligence
and understanding
and justice,
and never forget
the people who helped you
rise from
peanuts to
the Presidency.

Congratulations to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the newly elected President of Brazil. I wish you great success.

Thank you for reading. Many people are dancing in the streets today in Sao Paulo, as the new President stands beside a banner that reads:
"HOPE WILL OVERCOME FEAR"

(sigh) Oh Kacy, this is marvelous newds, I love it and respect her highly from the news I read! As Shakira mentioned in an interview, almost never in Latin America do people who are born poor gain any power and just die poor, and that is sad since there are so many voices that are silenced because of that which could be of great use to the nations, but I am happy she made an exception! (big hugggsssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Kacy,
Are you sure that wasn't Carter? Or was he the campaign manager?

Glad you guys are following this newslead. Yes, Larry, I thought of the Carter connection.
Yes, 'tis good when the people get the man they want. I've been following this political situation a bit, and I think the Brazilians made an excellent choice this time.
Wind, da Silva, aka Lula, picked peanuts for a while when he was a teenager, hence, the peanut connection.

Lyra, so glad to see you here tonight. I will light a candle of Love, Peace, and Healing tonight, in your honor.
And yes, it is a good omen for Brazil I believe, that a man such as 'Lula' da Silva is now at the helm.

May ripples of LOVE
become waves of PEACE

I'm not really into news, international or otherwise as it tends to depress me, but I thank you for the update. It's nice to know that all news isn't bad and that once in a while the "good guys(gals)" win!!

Thank you for your reply, Tammy. It is indeed encouraging to find good news on the front page. I believe we are constantly surrounded by good news, but it isn't as 'exciting' to the media or the general public for some reason, so the depressing, sad and violent news usually gets top billing.

Kacy darling heart, there is in your writing a deep and abiding echo that lingers in the soul of the reader, so few writers can and do write this fewer do this as well as you do. It is a pleasure to read such well written expressive work. This is an utterly utterly utterly wonderful post. So incredibly well constructed the flow is excellent like a stream of crystal water it refreshes as it strokes the mind.

I love this utterly long live the president
