Fishing With Serenity
By Paul Wilson

I went fishing the other day
My fishing partner was Serenity
We were going to redfish bay
Hats and shades hid our identity

The trip was going fine
Till we left the dock
Serenity forgot her fishing line
She didn’t show till nine o’clock

We left the dock heading out
Everyone else was heading in
With luck we might catch some trout
Paddle faster Serenity…the motor died again

As luck would have it we were saved
The Coast Guard came upon the scene
After six hours a cold beer I craved
Serenity was turning green

With our boat now in tow
We told our story to the press
Next time we’ll go to the picture show
Serenity …why did you get us in this mess

To Be Continued…

Paul would blame it all on me,
but the truth should yet be told...
Serenity SHE DOES NOT SLEEP--
she has a license to be bold.

Paul enticed me with a worm--
in a bottle full of gold.
Tequila was the catch of day--
I was there by sale of soul.

He said he had a fine pirogue--
I said, "that's fine with me, cherie"
He said, "cher, please hold my pole?"
I shrugged reply: "c'est la vie..."

He brought me down the river
where no tug had ever reached--
sand upon the Mississipp--
I said, "Son of a BEACH!"

The story does go on ya'll know,
but you will have to wait.
I want to watch Paul wiggle worm--
before I bite at bait!

Serenity~ You got me good.

You did me in and that's no sin
Maybe someday we will go fishing again
Being a man I knew this battle I couldn't win
Please don't cast a spell on me my friend

Dont take her fishing ... its not her style ...
shes much too impatient to sit still for awhile.
She'll fidget and fuss ... for no fish will she wait ...
She'll curse and cuss ... she'll eat your bait.

Take her to the creek where the Crawdads are found ...
me twin loves mud bugs...once caught they are Gumbo bound

Paul...

Looks like Karen saw your rhyme
She had some things to say
Don't stop now, please, you two
We'd like to hear you play

(Uh, Oh....that didn't come out quite right!?!)

Anyway, continue, and thanks for sharing your "fishing trip".  HeeHee!!

Love To All,
Ethel

Noah...Thanks for your sweet reply.
This could become a bigger fish tale than anyone could imagine...Paul

Bernie...Thanks for the vote of confidence.
I was just sort of baiting the hook to make her think she had the upper hand, when all she really has is a worm in her hand...Paul

Seymour...Thanks, Maybe you would like to come along on the next fishing trip, you could drive the boat, because Serenity got us lost last time...Paul

Janet Marie~ Your reply made me LOL.
I was wondering where all the bait went, I guess she made herself a worm Po-boy.LOL Paul

Enchantress~ Thanks for enjoying.
If I don't watch out watch out Serenity's fish tale
Might turn into a story about her catching a whale. LOL...Thanks ...Paul

Ethel~ I hope you aren't trying to get something started here, If I go fishing with her again I might have to bring along a body guard for protection.LOL. Thanks...Paul
