Courage To Fly

I want to curl up into you
Let you hold me, hide me
Until the world gives up
On finding me

I want to close my eyes
And go to sleep
Frozen in a tranquil bliss
Secure in your embrace

I want to crawl in beneath
The breath you inhale
And let your peace
Exhale over me

Will you envelop me
Until the demons flee from me
Will you rock me
In the warmth of your understanding

another day...
I will take courage
to fly...

I enjoyed this greatly; how nice to have a 'friend' and a 'lover' all in one. I can relate to the wanting to be protected and hugged and held...so real. Thank you, I think this is well done.

Warmly,
Pat

dgvarner, being the hopeless romantic that I know I am, I absolutely loved the thoughts your poem made me feel. I guess because I could feel the truth in the words you wrote. I enjoyed it very much. I haven't seen much of you around here in this month I've been here. I'd love to read more of your work. Thanks for sharing this one.
Love To All,
Ethel...garysgirl

"Will you rock me in the warmth of your understanding?"

This passage has so many connotations. I know where you're coming from with this write----and I have felt the same way--in fact, I feel that way right this minute! tehe

You express your emotions so well. So many readers, I am sure, identify with what  your poems convey.

Gale~
Always, I 'feel' what you write...you know that.
But today...this is perfect.
Love and hugs, friend...I miss you.
