“Teach me to fly on wings of desire
It is only with your touch I am free”
How caught up in this simple dance
I always seemed to be

Asking a lover, a friend, a handsome stranger
To take me on a journey I’ve not been before
And when it seemed the ride would be over
I always tried to hold on for a little bit more

Chasing the light and life out of those around me
Never quite happy when the song does end
I wanted to dance outside of the music
I needed to lean on someone to help me pretend

Life was disappointing to such as dreamer as I
I needed excitement and mystery and such
Never quite happy with secure and quiet feelings
I needed to feel the passionate touch

I lost so many who were in their own ways
Wonderful, passionate, caring, strong men
All because they stopped evoking my desire
I’d leave them behind and blame it on them

And then one day I awoke sad and alone
How on earth could this be?
I’d fought so hard from being ordinary
Why is there no one left to love me?

I looked behind at the lists of those used
Hearts had been broken and I never cared
I suddenly fought off the urge to call them
Try to relive some of the memories we shared

For the face in the mirror was no longer youthful
It was tired and wrinkled and so so old
I chased away all of my young years
Leaving in the end no one left to hold

So to all of you out there who say you are dreamers
Remember from slumber you’ll someday awake
Take care to touch lightly for hearts can be broken
And life is often of it what we make.

Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind...

A sober and courageous write. Longing, guilt, self searching and an admittance that I lately share.....that we put us here. Others touched, had been qualified but chased away for what? Greener pastures? That "perfect" love that must be out there somewhere? Reflections can be painful and I hear this voice.

(sigh) Oh Michelle, this is wonderful and so very true, sweet friend, there is that special one out there somewhere for he has a plan for everyone and the dreamers are those who are gifted with what they desire! (big hugggsssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Michelle, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

This is such a heartrending tale. I really like it. And it's nice to see you again!
