Last night at dusk I left the house,
...to take an evening stroll,
Out past the garden through the woods,
...to meadow's distant knoll,
Within a mile of city's din,
...I found a place of calm,
Beyond the reach of mortal man,
...'mid soothe of nature's balm,
Came whisper of the evening's breeze,
...silence then was broken,
By the sound of rustling leaves,
...as dark to me had spoken,
I stood beneath night's canopy,
...in glow of Luna's light,
In the grass of distant meadow,
...I stood as one with night.

Tim...How very peaceful. Made me want to visit the country where the sounds of city nights don't exist...Paul

...where city lights are horizon bound
and stars are my flashes of light
...and somewhere near the coyote sounds
and long seems dark this night...

Tim, thanks for kick-starting my muse...

Tim, This is so well done, I don't even need to be there to feel a sense of peace and serenity. It slows my breathing, and though still early morning here, I needed to read something like this.

Thanking you,
Warmly,
Pat
