Oh, I do appologize sweet suthern belle. I did not realize that Toe was referring to you as his shadow. I feel much better now knowing that he will be well-protected and safe from the predators of hell. I withdraw my offer for him to slip under my wings. He won't be needing that warm, loving place of refuge. LOL

Chilling tanka here Linda. Quite appropriate for Halloween. I wish I were as good as you at writing tankas. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be a form that I excel in. Oh well, at least I can enjoy yours.

After miserably failing at my first three tries at Tankas, I was delighted to see this posted in open. Got my studying cap on (took the 'lectro-shock one off), can almost feel the gears spinning again. Nice job of putting things so succinctly.

I cannot imagine you "failing" at writing tankas. They were probably much much better than you give yourself credit for! We all can be pretty hard on ourselves at times regarding the quality of our writing.
