Beginning to End
By Larry Chadwick

You could see it from the start,
It was written on their faces.
They were meant to be in love,
Though they’d come from different places.

From the innocence of  their youth,
They had an intensity of devotion.
A foundation for their family,
Where you could feel true love’s emotion.

For when they made their vows,
It was done with pure intent.
Knowing love can conquer all,
When your mate is heaven sent.

There were plenty of good times,
That far out weighed the bad.
We were proud to watch,
The faithfulness of our mom and dad.

They professed their love as loudly,
At the end as when it started.
It’s what gives my mother strength,
Now that dad’s departed.

October 24, 2002

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Larry
this has a nice feel to it, speaking of feel, I think you are missing one from the last line of verse two.
Good work

How very beautiful... both the poem and the love shared through so many years... that now sustains through the tears. *S*

Larry, this is so heartwarming and beautiful. The love sounds a lot like my parents. I know that you are hurting from your Dad's passing...but, as your Mom is doing, I know that the love you and your Father shared is going to help you through.

Thanks for sharing your heart, dear, sweet friend.

Love To All,
Ethel

If this poem and the photo affected me this much---I can only imagine your Mom's reaction when she saw this. Another special addition to your family records!

Yes a wonderful tribute Larry (psst, the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree does it - that nose looks familiar) I drew a moustache on the screen and yup there you were.

Larry, thank you for continuing to share your family. I feel like we are neighbors and friends and it's nice to be involved with all of you.

This is a lovely tribute to your Mom and Dad.

Hugs, Marti

Sharon,
Aren't you adorable. Dad always made a big production about the family nose. Thank you so much.

Marti,
How kind. And I am honored to be considered your neighbor. Bless you. Thanks.
