It is only a sign
of winter,
some say, though fall is but
one moon gone,

though ice crystals only
threaten to sparkle winter alive,

this damp chill strikes deep
so suddenly, I’ve no time
nor energy to bury
myself in lumberous clothing,

so it was well

that, at O dark thirty this morn,
to don warm brilliance of
silk scarf ‘round cardiganed
shoulders, smiling in a revelation
of warm caressing this bare neck

and if it is the scarlet
color emitting heat, then
it was well to slip on

a first sign
of winter.

I have never read any of your poems before, but I will make sure to do so in the future. A beautiful poem.

Thank you, Kielo.  I have been
advised to follow yours,
as well, and have enjoyed,
though not always able to respond...

OH how I do love this!
First, feeling the cool crispness of late fall..
then the cozy warm feeling of a cardigan and silk scarf..
Yes..I'm so pleased you are still visiting with us today Soleil!

Yes, I feel the chill, and am loathe to relinquish this t-shirt

Enchantress, my northern friend,
how cool is your morn this day?
Sweet girl, we have not gone
beyond a chilling 30F,
and I need to read one of your warmer
pieces, and soon!

Wranx...don't let the goosebumps
show!  Thank you for reading, once again!
