Asking Myself When

Went on the inside
Looking out
Smiling away
Yet so full of doubt

Gathering a thread
Picking a word
Upon deaf ears
My torment unheard

Suffering in silence
Worrying again
Confidence zero
All becomes a strain

A low self-esteem
Creates despair
Swallowing tears
I’m painfully aware

Completing a verse
With poetic pen
Esteem to grow
Asking myself when ?
