Asking Myself When

Went on the inside
Looking out
Smiling away
Yet so full of doubt

Gathering a thread
Picking a word
Upon deaf ears
My torment unheard

Suffering in silence
Worrying again
Confidence zero
All becomes a strain

A  low self-esteem
Creates despair
Swallowing tears
I’m painfully aware

Completing a verse
With poetic pen
Esteem to grow
Asking myself when ?

Whoa! Well, this should raise self-esteem, if you are speaking of yourself. You versed what many of us think and feel. This is indeed, a great poem.  Thank you for letting me know others feel as I do sometimes.

Warmly,
Pat
