On problems and trials of this life
we all surely know
On pages here in blue, sometimes our
hearts we try to show

When we are having pain or joy we
all so often write
Some of us are simply asking for
another's insight

It helps so much to me when in my words
you do ponder
I'm always anxious to know what it is
you think and wonder

So please give me your opinion on whatever
I may be learning
Just please be sweet and gentle, my dear friends,
of this I am yearning

With my wonderful Family Of Friends,
of this I never have to fear
No matter what my thought or problem I write
I know you'll always be near

I thank you very much for this, my sweet,
dear friends
For to me you're always so kind and gentle
with your replies each one sends

THANKS   AGAIN   TO   MY   WONDERFUL   FAMILY   OF   FRIENDS

If ever someone is less than kind
Just let the others know
We'll form a posse, and they'll soon find
A better attitude to show.

Or at least... we can hope! LOL

I enjoyed this, gg... and enjoy having you here. *S*

Ahh this is so sweet Ethel!
That's why were a family...
and you're now a big part of it.
You can thank me for my replies..by writing more of your lovely poetry ...
and perhaps..
in the dead of winter sending some of that Florida warmth up here to frozen Canada.
Enjoyed the read, and the smile it caused.

Ethel,
I can give you no advice, Merely comment.
Any, that write from the heart, that share of themselves, are appreciated here.

Your kind comments to my work, have also been appreciated.

Ed

In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward".

Suthern, thanks so much, sweet Southern Lady. No-ones ever been rude or less than gentle to me, but I appreciate knowing that I have a possee to go after someone who ever is. HaHa!.  Thanks, dear friend.

Thanks so much, Nancy Lee, for your sweet replies. And I can't express just how much I appreciate this wonderful family I now belong to. Thank you, dear Lady.
OHHHHH, I wish I could bottle up some of this Florida Sunshine for you. I'd gladly do it. I bet it's cold way up there. I think Canada's beautiful..the pictures and the people, anyway. I've never been there. I have a friend who moved there. She loves it. Maybe I can visit there one day. Thanks, again.

From the amount of replies and the sweet comments you get, it seems you have lots of people who think the same thing. I'm looking forward to reading more of your work. Thank you.

Yay!!! Awwwwwwww you are such a special friend to us all and we all love you so much too! (kiss on cheek) I wish I could meet you so very much, I have been to Florida a handful of times, I just love the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets on the beach, the Everglades, Disney World, and walking on the harbors, and also my sweet Joanna lives in Florida and I dream of flying there again just to hold her hand! (smiles) Have you ever been to Colorado, it is dry but very lovely! You are so very special, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Ethel, I am not one to critique another's words, as I believe so many of us write from our heart and soul and do the best we can.

I like your poems very much and hope you will keep writing. I am glad you're here.

Thank you, Noah, for your sweet reply. No, I've never been to Colorado, but have heard from friends that it's absolutely beautiful. I would love to go there to visit. Friend, I hope that you will get to visit your Joanna very soon in Florida. It is beautiful here, though very hot sometimes. Thank you.

Thank you so very much, sweet Marti. I feel the same as you, who am I to reply with a critical remark? To comment on someone's poem is one thing, but to be rude about their intentions is quite another. Thank you so much for your reply and for your poems, friend.

GG, you epitomize what Passions is all about. We are just people - normal, common, average people who have a need or desire to put our feelings down on paper. Sincerity always shows and is always appreciated. Those who criticize have a wide variety of other sites they can adorn. Here we are....a family of friends. Welcome, friend!

Ethel, everything I want to say has already been said, and if I write it all down now, it will look like I'm plagiarizing! hehe

As I've told you before sweet friend, you have definitely been a welcomed new addition to the family!

As long as the others are here, no one will say anything unkind. We read poems so they will heal our souls, something that critisism just won't do. If anyone gives you trouble, tell them to back of or complain to me. I teach them not to mess with you!

This is so true, Ethel... a big happy, wonderful family you have joined...
I had posted my poetry for a few weeks at this really awful site where all they did was rip everyone's poetry apart...
and then I came here... and found not only some of the best poets, but also a wonderful family of friends.  I'm glad you joined us

Ethel~ A wonderful write from your heart.
We are not here to hurt or critize anyone, we are all here to enjoy our Passion of writting and sharing that passion with friends that we may never meet, but friends all the same.
A few months back after I started visiting Passions I wrote a poem about all the kindness & friends I have made while here and if you care to read it you can do a smart search for it, its titled Gathering of Friends.
Thank you for sharing your heart with us and I hope you never leave this beautiful family we have here that stretches around the world.
Paul.

Ethel, I seem to be the object of your complaint, and I'd like to take this opportunity to let you know, as I did through e-mail I was concerned that a New Yorker family member of a jumper would read a certain poem posted; I believe, as do certain others, that would be sheer agony. This is www which makes the world pretty small. Many people use this site to find peaceful, soothing, funny, intelligent poetry to get away from their daily traumas and experiences. The only true sorrow I have is that the author did not get to see the reply you reference. The only prayer I have is that no family or friend of the victims of 911 see the poem in question. I cannot imagine the untold pain and heartache it will cause. And, I am praying. I was told the only way a poem can be removed from this site is if it is suicidal in nature. The poem in question is not.
I am sorry you feel about me the way you do. I hope in time, you'll forgive me for somehow having caused you grief. Most of the reply I posted on the poem could have been used and did not 'put down' the author.

Admittedly, there was one line that wasn't very nice when I suggested who he/she might be.

I have never hurt anyone, including and especially you, in this poetry site. I am a loving, kind person. If you do not know that by now, perhaps
you never will.

Sincerely sorry for how this has effected your sensitive nature. When I was that sensitive I did seek professional help, something I suggest to "all" people going through various problems. You are right, this is a very loving family of friends and I have been made to feel welcome by many of them, the ones that count to me.

Very truly yours,
Pat

..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons..

Pat, I am very sorry that I have caused you any kind of hurt feelings. I am also a loving person who does not like to see anyone hurt. I hope that you or anyone else who's gotten their feelings hurt over any of this will please forgive me. In fact, I am going to ask the moderators to please take this whole thing off the site. I am a peacemaker, not a trouble maker. I know, Pat, that you are a kind, loving person, too. And are also a peacemaker.  Again, I ask you to forgive me for any trouble or pain whatsoever that I may have caused you.

Sincerely Yours,
Ethel

Pat, I went back and edited every one of my replies that may have had anything in them to hurt anybody. Again, I'm very sorry for any hurt feelings or anything else negative that I may have caused to you or anyone else.

My browser isn't working right, or something, so I'm having trouble sending    e-mail. If I could, I would send an e-mail to one of the moderators to get them to take this whole thing off.

As you said earlier, some people come to this site to "find peaceful, soothing, funny, intelligent poetry to get away from their daily traumas and experiences". Pat, that is very true, and I am one of those people. Therefore, I wish I had never even put this poem on here.

I am sincerely sorry for any trouble it may have caused you or anyone else.
Thanks, Ethel
