(I decided to re-post this (slightly revised of course) in prayer for all the children in Virginia and Maryland and Washington and all over the area who have to cope with the fear and anger in the recent attacks there and disrupted from their usual lifestyles. Join me in prayer that soon this maniac who is obstructing their freedom will be caught and again these children won't have to face such fear! )

Cry Freedom
By: Noah Eaton
8/6/02

Millions of brothers and sisters dance in my mind
Standing under a fragile sun in a sky without a voice
Scattered like the buffalo on the open plain
Tryiung to find the courage to form a circle together to the future

I wait with my head buried in open hands, heaven help us all
Falling into an ocean of prayers, slumbering without blankets
Swaying to the wind, hands reaching for a sign
Raining tears, transparent, clear, crying freedom

We all bleed the same as everyone
But we're divided by the fear we feel
We all bleed the same as everyone
But we're all torn apart in this belligerence
Watching as our children yearn for their moms to return
To have a shoulder to cry over
And say, "When will it be safe to go outside?"
Fear not children
You are safe with Him...

There's a little girl waiting by the cathedral mirror
With pigtails and pajamas, tucking a white bunny under her arm her parents gave her
Longing to find a day she can sleep more soundly
Lying in her grave dreaming of something she could never become

She waits holding a candle in her hands, heaven save me
She dances in the ballroom until someone tells her to take it outside
And she kneels before the flag, wondering if the colors still bear complaisance
Raining tears, transparent, clear, crying freedom

We all bleed the same as everyone
But we're divided by the fear we feel
We all bleed the same as everyone
But we're all torn apart in this belligerence
Watching as our children yearn for their moms to return
To have a shoulder to cry over
And say, "When will it be safe to go outside?"
Fear not children
You are safe with Him...

Millions of brothers and sisters dance in my mind
They all look different but feel the same underneath it all
All rubber duckies heading down the canals of life
What will we say to whose who get left behind?

Cry freedom
Show us what innocence remains
Cry freedom
Show us what love hasn't died

We all bleed the same as everyone
But we're divided by the fear we feel
We all bleed the same as everyone
But we're all torn apart in this belligerence
Watching as our children yearn for their moms to return
Fear not, children of the world
You are safe...
You are safe...

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

I liked that verse especially, you portray the anguish and uncertainty that has come to terrorize our world.  But through it all we must remain united and overcome the fear that threatens to break us.

Thank you Noah~

Noah, thank you for posting this again. Hopefully, please God, the news out of the Washington area this morning indicates there are two men in custody and may possibly be the snipers.

Peace will finally come to the hearts of all if this is indeed true.

Hugs, Marti

Oh Noah! I'm crying my eyes out here! I too am praying for all the people in Virginia and Maryland. Here's a little "heads up" for everyone, though I don't know for SURE if it's true or not, but it never hurts to pass on something like this on the off chance...
My husbands friends wife was on line in Walmart a few weeks ago (before the 1st shooting in Maryland)and there was an "Arab? " man on line in front of her checking out. He was 25 cents short on his bill and she helpfully gave him a quarter to pay it. On the way out of Walmart the same man stopped her and told her she had done him a good turn and he would do her one in return. He told her NOT TO GO TO MARYLAND...AND...NOT TO DRINK COKE PRODUCTS!!! Like I said, I'm not SURE if this is true, but she has since passed this bit of info on. She says she didn't think anything of it at the time(not much anyway) until the first shooting in Maryland. Just pass this along and hope it turns out to be nothing..In the meantime...don't drink COKE!!
