Wishing Well

Interesting,

that on
a rain driven day
when autumn is cast in heaviest
gray,
and thoughts of you
were so far away
that a summer smell
could and did
pervade a memory

and the picnic spread below us
there in the tall grasses,
humming bees
and green crested dragonflies
buzz bombing now
crevices of gray matter

and for a split moment

I remembered you,
and the good times
with laughter warming youthful smiles,
and I wondered

are you all right
though you most likely are
wherever you be
on this cold
grainy gray day

and for all of the hurt
that passed by us
after the picnic days
of our youth

I still
wish you well.

When the path to forgiveness is found life becomes so beautiful.  This is extremely wonderful poetic indulgence. *s*

Dear Sy, I am always around,
sometimes, I am just hidden
in the shadows, and
for you, my dear friend

RMW, Sigheyes, thank you both kindly
for reading...

Cpat...I do not know that my soul
is beautiful or otherwise; I only
know, these were the thoughts floating
this morn, and wished to capture them
as they were...thank you, Sir, for allowing
it to catch your eye...

Gentle Spirit, that I would have
your gentle soul would suit me well...
thank you for reading...

one of those softly whispered remembrances that catch us at the most unlikely times... and for all that they cause a twinge of pain, they are still treausred.

thank you for the breath of associated memories this afternoon.

Soleil

Isn't it wonderful how a seemingly simple thing can bring back a memory in such a real way.  Thank you for sharing this one.

Dear Enchantress, my friend,
it is always so good to be
welcomed again, and I promise, not to stay away
so very long...

Christopher, without the pain, we
would not know what best to treasure.
I know your time is brief, but I so enjoy
when you glance my way...thank you...

Martie, the most simple of memories,
make for the most beautiful of poems,
at times...even though cast with harsh,
still, the silver linings show through...

Majnu, welcome to Passions, and I hope you
stay around awhile, and allow us to get to know you and your writings...thank you...

Magnus...your echoes sound well in the deepest of valleys...thank you...

regret only makes us old before our time...this poem speaks with softspoken wisdom...
this is a lovely remembrance Soleil...
so nice to read your delicate pennings again

JanetMarie...you, my dear,
need to favor us with a memory
or two, yourself...but your time is busy,
though sometimes we need to realign our
priorities, yes?

Chris, sitting in your library is SO delightful!

EarthAngel, you may, if I may to you, as well...thank you!

Bill, I hope you continue to do so, thank you...

Noah, you keep reading, and learning, and
our world will be so much better for the likes
of you!

Bernie, sometimes, it does, yes.
Thank you...

Blues, you indeed heard the sincerity
of a long ago time...thank you...

Wranx, I, too, hope you have not
read the last...as I have continued to read
yours, and favorable thoughts to accompany...

...I wish you well...

that is the epitomy of real love, of the letting go kind of love, of a person who knows what love really means...

I enjoyed this a great deal.

This is so beautiful to me. It's odd how the least thing can bring back a memory, isn't it. I love your poetry. Thanks for sharing.

Dear Pat, yes, I would agree, when one learns the letting go kind of love, knowing that a together is not meant to be, then that is the epitomy of letting others fly...thank you...

Yes, Ethel, and sometimes in order to see our growth, we must let those little memories sneak back in...thank you!

Madame C...rainy days are special, to you, and I...they are a snuggly sort of good time...hugs....
