(This is about my past, when I was 12 and almost lost the battle with my demons! Hugs! )

12
By: Noah Eaton
10/23/02

Is it any wonder there is always charity in the stars?
Even when you can’t get off your pillow, where lays a broken heart
If only they weren’t all that far
I’m just a facsimile of Pinocchio who knows only my block by heart
Come, blue fairy, wherever you are…

Nightmares
Cold sweats
You’d think there lies a golden bridge
Somewhere in the distance, far away
And I had
Seizures
Cat scans
All that I had has broken
Into pieces of yesterday

What did I expect anyhow?
That life was always like the sticker on a little girl's lunch box
You’d imagine supposedly being 12
Life should be leprechauns, rainbows, and promises
If you let your tennis shoes get goosed in mud
Just to be where you want to be
I picked acres of cattails in the lonely ravine
Hoping my cries of help could spread like dandelion seeds
In the bloody zephyr
Of a fair-weather day

Nightmares
Cold sweats
You’d think there lies a golden bridge
Somewhere in the distance, far away
And I had
Seizures
Cat scans
All that I had has broken
Into pieces of yesterday

If you look close enough
You can see sirens of an ambulance still flashing in my eyes
On endless September and October nights at 1 A.M
When even the streetlights weren’t glowing bright
If you sojourn to my backyard
There under the abandoned tire swing tree
Lay old shoes and pails and buckets
Stained with merciless tears of blood I cried

Nightmares
Cold sweats
You’d think there lies a golden bridge
Somewhere in the distance, far away
And I had
Seizures
Cat scans
All that I had has broken
Into pieces of yesterday
Nightmares
Cold sweats
You’d think there lies a golden bridge
Somewhere in the distance, far away
And I had
Seizures
Cat scans
All that I had has broken
Into pieces of yesterday…

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

So deeply touching, this write. The truest you that I have read. Scars set deep with indelible carve...what tragedy could break apart the heart of one so young? Many prayers to heal and carry you past what has passed. This friend, ThisDiamond

Noah, sweet friend, this poem is good like all your other ones...but it breaks my heart. I can just see that little 12yr. old boy now. Noah, stay happy now, though, because you came through it all. You are such a sweet, loving person and so caring for others.
Think about that happy birthday card you sent me with all the little squirrels dancing to all the different styles of music. You know what? I really do love all music...well, mostly all. There are a couple of types I don't like too well. But I sure did love that card. It was so cute.

Thank you, sweet Noah for sharing another part of your heart with us.

Love To All,
Ethel

Noah..An amazing write!!! Truly spoken like a poet of the soul who sees and hears far more than most. Wish you could write of sugar-plums and fairy dust; but what you have written is an eye-opener. ***Ivy Rose

Noah, what a song you have here to sing, and who you have become through all of that, you should be proud of yourself, as you know all of us are Hugs and love to you.

Oh Noah, That is such a sad poem but it was very heartfelt. Thank you so much for sharing. You have such a pure heart and you are so nice and caring, I only hope that all of that never disappears. I am very glad that you have gotten over what happened, and if you ever want to talk or need to talk or just need someone to listen email me. We all love you!
