Dear Broken Heart,

I've come a long way
Only to find myself again
Slipping on silver tears
Gripping onto vulnerable fears
I gasp for sanity
Through my sobs and
Outspoken naivite
I'm tired
As you can tell
By broken fantasies
And throwing my hopes
Down Love's wishing well
I know
I can not be like my sister; Cinderella
And I know
I can not be like my cousin; Gwynhefar
I wonder why
I am always the one
Left with you;
A broken heart
Left throbbing in the middle of the night
Leaving me with no sleep in sight
And even better yet
An unheathly contradictive appetite
For Prince Charming's affection
Yet instead
I lie here with an infectious fever
Burning through my veins
Traumatizing my heart
With fleeting thoughts
Of pain mixed with optimism
Perhaps even  The Queen's Mirror was right
Maybe my heart is masochistic
Why else would I subject myself
To Love's humiliation...

Consider yourself fuzzed

Why indeed...

I should be in bed myself but had to say this is beautiful first, & also The mirror never lies (or so I've been told)

perhaps your heart is just something needing to be shared...and for that you will indeed suffer the indignities of trying to find love..the pain the hurt the humility it forces on you...

very nicely done....

i know how you feel. it sucks.

the poem is a bit trite i thought - but then i never was one to believe in children's tales.

Dear FFF ~

Oh, you write so well of the pain of a broken heart. You draw the reader into your shattered world to reveal the depths of
of your misery---an intimacy shared between writer and reader.

Wow! I so identify with the feelings in this piece! And the powerful imagery and the fairy tell metaphors fit your words perfectly! Well done! I especially love the lines:

Burning through my veins
Traumatizing my heart
With fleeting thoughts
Of pain mixed with optimism
Perhaps even  The Queen's Mirror was right
Maybe my heart is masochistic
Why else would I subject myself
To Love's humiliation...

I hope you find your Prince Charming soon

I loved your heartfelt poem and Jeff's response too, as so often we keep in search of the "ideal".  I guess with age you learn that has to change a bit, but I never hand out advise, life takes you there instead.  Well done indeed and loved your metaphors in this poem.

Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.
