In flurries of the lake effect, a dream so crisp to wake
Events have changed to resurrect the fall for heaven’s sake
In solitude the morning air lilts deeply through my lungs
And even now to dissipate in passage wagged in tongues

In furies of such fortitude, decisions broad and bold
Even more sought solitude, in truths I’ve lived and told
In simple contemplation so enjoyed with frosting on
Each leaf in chilled libation waits for a warmer dawn

In fevers and in nightshade dreams, a coat of white bestows
Events as pure as growing up, where confidence still grows
In single sighted plenitude another autumn morn
And even now before the winter chill the dusts adorn

Ah winter, you helped me remember it as it should be.

Oh Kathy... You must be in Michigan now, although it still says Connecticut under your name...
I was watching the weather this morning and they predicted snow for Grand Rapids...
What a nice welcome for you and your daughter. those lovely lake effect flakes...

Your poem is beautiful and very meaningful...
~ welcome to Michigan hugs from the chipmunk

This is wonderful writing.  Autumn has always been my favorite time of year and I love those frosty mornings.  This brings back so many wonderful, even pretty memories.   Thank you!

The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn

Well, it seems you missed the snow in New England this morning but have the weather of Michigan to contend with.

I love the way this rhymmed ... so smooth, almost like a frozen lake!!

Hugs, Marti

(smiles) We just got frost here in Denver for the first time since the summer, sweet friend, usually we get it in early September but it has been so horribly dry and hot and it is a relief to see hoarfrost for the first time now, this is gorgeous and shines with a spiritual conscience level too, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kathleen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
