~~~***~~~
Hold me...please hold me,
please hold me very tight.
You say you do not love me,
but please hold me
through this night.
I'm teetering on the edge
of the pit of deep despair,
hold me...please hold me
--pretend you really care.
I feel myself slipping
into a black emptiness,
no dreams, no love, no laughter
--just silent nothingness.
Hold me...please hold me,
please hold me very tight.
You say you do not love me
--please pretend
...for one more night.
~~~***~~~

(big hugggssssss) Oh Linda, this is such a sad expressive poem, sweet friend, I hope these tears don't relate to you now as they do me and true loves happiness now is with you! (sigh) Keep your chin up, sweet friend, you are so deserving of golden love forever, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Very heart-wrenching words...a plea for affection in a one-sided dance of love...how sad and yet how touching,Earth Angel.

Noah, I wrote this a few years ago when my husband moved in with my "girlfriend". I was crushed, betrayed, disillusioned and heart-broken---but instead of rolling over and dying like I felt at that time,

--I decided to swim instead of sink,
  And to grow instead of shrink!

Those painful days are behind me and I have made a wonderful life for myself. I am glad to be alive!

Linda! This must be what you mean, re: trust. Ow! What an experince for you to go through. Ugh, poor baby!

Glad you are here, too. you are a terrific person. It is amazing, the pain we humans encounter along the way of growth....

I have had a ~lot~ of non-poets say, "I swear you wrote this just for me"
regarding many, many of my old poetry.

I am so glad we are happy! (finally) least re; love life. (big smile)
Like this...yours is gut-wrenching, too.

Warmly,
Pat

Kethry ~

Oh, it was real alright. I remember the night I wrote this. It was one of the lowest points in my life. But when you're feeling that low, the only way out, is up!

~ Okay, I'll keep writing if you keep reading! haha ~

Linda, I would rather be held by a friend, than by someone that doesn't love me.  If that friend can't be found, then I'll just hold myself, as I'm sure all of us have done from time to time.  Thank you for this and for writing a poem that made me think.  I love it when that happens.

the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn

Linda, I am laughing....I didn't mean I have a love life....I MEANT, was glad what I had written is very far in the past. That I am glad for that.
That makes me happy. No one in my life is okay, too...that is a happy thing!

hugs,
Pat...

Oh what a beautiful, but heartbreaking poem, Linda...
I'm so glad that is all behind you now...
I admire your decision to grow rather than shrink....

E.A. Oh I know this feeling, except there were the long nights of holding onto and crying into my pillow.  I'm glad you shared this part of your past and equally happy for you that you made it through.

Ahhh, just the kind of work I most appreciate. When something happens that is painful it is so cathardic (for me at least) to create something beautiful with it.

I'm glad too!  That is one history lesson I never want to repeat! As for the E-motional scar, I put Vitamin E on it daily and it's almost completely healed!
