The Beauty of Your Love
By Larry Chadwick
Hope you enjoy the collection of poems I found that I wrote in 1993! Here is one.

Today I was pondering the beauty of your love,
Searching for images of what you meant to me.
And then I remembered as if from above,
So clearly it was easy for me to see.

It’s the first gift that ever you gave me,
Given without effort and repeatedly over time.
While it was there for everyone to see,
The first time I saw it I knew your smile was mine.

Even greater than the smile on your face,
Came something deeper for someone so shy.
So I wouldn’t forget I wanted that look to trace,
The warmth, the joy, sincerity and character in you eye.

It was the impression of your bearing,
The warm feeling when near your space.
That erased all thoughts worth fearing,
Because of your charm and your grace.

And from that first chance meeting,
When hope in my heart boiled over with glee;
The fear that this may be fleeting,
Aroused that desire to pursue with all that was in me.

Now though our bodies have been made one from above,
And all the fruits of love we have shared;
It’s more than those things which are done in love,
It’s the beauty of knowing from the beginning you cared.

December 10, 1992 (Yes I noticed! )

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Sad.  This is really sad.  You've stolen a lot of my lines and turned them into something  sweet and romantic.   How am I to go on without these wonderful lines?  Eh?  BTW - You wrote really well, too.  Good job, Larry.

Don't let LongJohn fool ya...his lines are like: Taking a glass of water, dipping his finger in it, touching it to some ladies blouse and saying:.."Let's go over to my house and get out of these wet clothes."

That kind of love can weather a lot of storms. No matter what rain might fall, a poem such as this would be treasured by a woman for a lifetime.

~ May the love you and your wife share, continue to grow and blossom ~

You're very lucky to have found (and kept) a love like this.  Enjoyed the read.

No matter how good looking she is... someone, somewhere is glad she's gone.

Sue,
Well aren't you sweet? Thanks.

J,
Indeed you will! Thanks.

Lyra,
Well looked who slipped in. And thank you for that. It was a surprise I found them when up at my papa's funeral. About a dozen of 'em. All I really did before last year that is to be found. Hope you enjoy them all. Thanks again.

Hello Larry

Thanks for sharing your beautiful words.  I'm sure they have as much meaning now as they did when they were first written.

Take care......Sue
