I wonder if I open the door to my mind
whether you would step in and harm
the balance of my thought?.
For as I follow you in this way,
I wonder if you will really grasp
that I don’t flirt to beguile,
I flirt in play.

For so long now I have dwelt alone
where no one can reach me.
Time has taught me the wisdom
of hiding in my inner sanctuary,
that self built shelter,
in side my robe of knowledge
from which I could flirt at no risk, knowing
no one can climb my every moving mind.

So I strive not to find but to lose myself,
as I fly within a whisker of your chin
and yet you lose not one inch of my whim.
As into safety I know I should spin,
only I find that refuge I seek is nowhere
but within the calm of your arms.
Suddenly I recognise
that my mixed desires
will bend to your touch.

Only in your words of wisdom,
I have found a supple love,
a place where I wish I could dwell
but I find that the same fear
hinders my stepping near.
I could dress myself in layers of hate,
I could continue to hide myself
in the drawer of my sole seclusion,
I could so easily disappear.

Yet so blind is this love to what we think,
we all but know, so blind that
flirting has no more luster,
as in the end
we have nothing
but ourselves to give.

This is one of the most beautiful, honest outpouring of heart--written in tears and read with the same.

I know how hard it can be to just "drop the blanket"--this poem does just that.

Etoile,

This beautiful spill
of your heart on paper
makes wondrous pattens
within my own blood

A hot tear of longing,
cools in it's trailing
descent to my lips,
transforms into hope.

Je t'aime

WhileIWasGone
You undressed yourself And I do not stare
For you undressed yourself in a prayer.
Enjoyed.

WhileIWasGone~ This is but a glympse into your heart. A heart where so many feelings dwell. A sanctuary that keeps feelings within
that yearn to be set free...Paul

In giving, we find that we are the ones who have received.

Thank you.

DeaDiAmore, I liked the way you poured your heart out in this poem. I feel the same way. I posted two poems here something like this (though your words said it much better than mine). I think our feelings of hiding behind a self-made wall were quite similar in the poems. I posted the first one, then the sequel to it. I hope that I will see a happy sequel to this poem of yours, and that you will throw your doubts and fears away, like I'm  TRYING real hard to do. Thanks for sharing your heart.

Love to All,
Ethel

(big hugggsssssss) Such outpouring of your heart floods in these thoughts, sweet friend, it seems so many of us can be selfish when it comes to love and I hope we all can learn to be giving and not let the neglect blind us! (sigh) This is striking, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

WhileIWasGone - and indeed you are of much wisdom. I read it in this poem. Very nicely written...
