Outrageous

she was simply outrageous
long black fingernails that only
a raven could compete with

eyes painted with the look of a wet
oil canvas
never dried smeared
long ago tears

her lips were outlinned in red
filled in like the coloring
books given to a kindergardener

long black sweaters oversized
made her figure disappear
you wouldn't look at her
except to stare

she was an innocent once
someones little girl
arms wrapped around
her mother
snuggled to her breast
for comfort

the space inside labeled compassion
had been filled
the room where she protected her heart
has been forgotten

wandering now needing someone
to look past the armor
a hopeless case
a lost cause holding out for one
final chapter

she knows you and you know her
you recognize her eyes and
you turn away
she smiles
right again
she wins every time
confirmed self defeat

I think I know this woman, Electra...
I think each of us has crossed her path at some time in our lives...
and you painted her vividly, with remarkable truth

(sigh) Wow, oh my gosh, I just love how you painted this character and revealed reflections of her personality in words alone, sweet friend, this is a fine self-portrait you've fashioned, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Electra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Hi Noah, thanks for your reply. Please make no mistake, this is not a self portrait. Just an observation of people and characters that have crossed my path. Yes, I always try to speak to the heart and it always comes from the heart. I'm waiting for another love poem of yours?

Hope you're doing O.K.

SG, I love your compassion and how you are an observer of (and a participant in!!!)the world around you. You look beyond the obvious. You care! I enjoy your writing on so many levels. I always come away from reading your words with a new insight or way of looking at life.

~ May you forever be you! ~

Thank you EA,

If you enjoy my poetry half as much as I enjoy yours than I'm a very, very happy camper. Your poetry lifts my spirits and I always appreciate your reactions to mine.

Rad,

They are picking me up off the floor at this very moment. I was so overwhelmed and pleased at your repy. Y O U have no idea how appreciative and happy it makes me. You are of course, the same Radrook that is helping me with "The Edge"? I hope so and will still continue to do so? I have been making a conscious effort to follow your pointers.
By the way was that what you meant on the last reply to "The Edge'? Reminding me to go back to your previous pointers?

Best to you and I want to see more of your posts.

SG

Wishing you well
