To write
humility within

Carrying the burden of life
given by two hands as
two become one...

Sharing the pain, frustration and fears
of the toils and turmoil within...
Asking only to be received,
respected and given
equality..

Yet, the currents of mighty rivers
course the steep banks beneath
the walls....roaring
in a chocolate
flow

Mixing madly
with tears of rain
which fall pure as crystal.
Falling onto the sands of one self.
Onto the sands of all...

Can one find love within this turbulence
flowing, deafening, maddening?
Will shouted words be heard?

Trust given....echoing...
Unheard by ears..
Never returned until
love is given unselfishly, freely
without a price...yet only
requiring commitment.

If only two paths, similar...
could be walked till the open
glade surrounds in peace.

As flowers bloom and leaves twirl
endlessly to the ground...love can
be found...growing amongst
guardian sentinels reaching
silently into the blue of day
and stars of night....

Knowing what is....is
And what might...
can be...if two are one
in mind and heart
together..

Barry

Many searching questions and I think you have answered.

"love is given unselfishly, freely
without a price"

This kind of unconditional love doesn't happen often, but I think if it does, it is foerever, even during turbulance.

Magnus darling heart HOW glad I am to see a poem by you, and this is something that is truly utterly utterly utterly special. How well you write in both rhyme and free verse, and how much I wish I could write like this.

Really magnificent writing darling boy, I’ve missed your writing so much, if, when I come back to the US I shall make sure I have internet access whenever I need it. This really is exquisite writing and of course you know I utterly utterly utterly love it darling heart it is fabulous

Love and warm stuff

Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire

Magnus,

It sounds like loving to me. At least  once in a lifetime, if we are blessed.
But often it takes the maturity spoken of here, before it happens.

I enjoyed this greatly.

Hello Barry

Your words touched my heart as they so often do and I am so glad I found this exquisite piece of your heart.  I hope all is well with you.  My heart has been heavy of late in the aftermath of the Bali tragedy and many of my words have been filled with sorrow.  Thank you for lifting me out of the sadness through your beautiful words.

Take care.......Sue

Now I know what has been missing in my life as of lately!--You and your words--whether they be of love, humor, horror... the list goes on!

"Sharing the pain, frustration and fears
of the toils and turmoils within...
Asking only to be received,
respected and given
equality..."

...that is not too much to ask of another who claims to love you

So much truth in your words.

Linda
