If I told you I'm leaving
Would you cry when I'm gone?
Would your days still be sunny
Or be dark and alone?

I'm only seven, mommy
That's too young to die
Do you know you're killing me
Even though you don't try

This habbit you've started
It cuts like a knife
Cause whenever you smoke
You light up my life

Hey dog, did you see the size of that chicken!?

Kris ~

Talk about a powerful reason for a parent to stop smoking!

This plaintiff cry should be an advertisement for an anti-smoking campaign!

Kris, this is beautifully written, but so sad. This is true, because of secondhand smoke. But, I smoked for years and years, and did not heed the warning....now I have very bad lungs. I have to go to the doctor for check-ups regularly, even today. The really sad thing is that after so many years of  NOT  smoking, I still have the craving of nicotine at times. It gets such a hold on people that they have to have a lot of will power to quit, even if they want to. Thanks for sharing your poem.

Love To All,
Ethel

EA, thanks for the reply. I wish they would outlaw selling cigarettes.

Ethel, I use to smoke too. I quit because I have a seven year old daughter. She would ask me why I did it if it was bad for me. I couldn't stand knowing that I was taking time away from being with her. I feel so much better now. I am training for the San Diego Marathon. I've never felt better.

Hey dog, did you see the size of that chicken!?

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Kristopher, this is so very sad, I am zero-tolerant against smoking and while I don't like cigarettes at all nevertheless I believe it's in ones own choice that is an adult to smoke or not, I think somehow it should be outlawed where you can only do it away in designated areas where no children can be affected by the second-hand smoke! (sad sigh) This is so powerfully said, sweet friend, may we together slowly work to save the health and rid of smoking, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kristopher, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Kris, maybe if I had read this earlier, I would not have smoked as long as I did --40 plus years.

However, it will be one year on November 9th that I am smoke free. I still have days when I miss them, but mostly I never give smoking a thought anymore. Thank goodness. It's a disgusting habit, but sooo hard to kick.

I hope this will help someone who still smokes.  Hugs, Marti
