I think,
that I’ll clean myself up,
and spend some time in town.

Let my hair dry
into a wild grey mane.

Don my old sardonic brood
and have a couple whiskeys

See, if I can’t still capture
the unguarded glance
of an unsuspecting dove

Invite, with a look,
to a place beside me
Compel her closer,
with a soft word

Have her soft breast
pressed against my arm,
as she leans in to hear
the things that she craves

Become, for an evening,
the mad monk, Rasputin
Dispelling the darkness
for some lonely Czarina

And for myself

I heard that he
Was going to
Spend some time in town

In the pub where
He’ll look around
To find some
Sweet young thing
To warm his
Rasputin cold
Let her run
Her fingers
Through
His wild grey mane

And so I’ll be there
Not in the first
Blush of
My youth
Not long of tooth
But wise
In the ways
Of letting a man
Think he picked me
When all along,
I wasn’t so unsuspecting
Or unguarded
But still
Soft
And eager
For a sweet word
For an evening
For him
In his darkness

Damn, Sharon

This is nice, the flow, the content--  everything just seemed to fall into place so naturally and as usual...  a great ending.

I liked 'the unguarded glance of an unsuspecting dove'--  nice.

Smooth and well done.  I really liked it.

Yes, that would work.   Enjoyed. Chris
