The motor of emotion pumps passion to the fore
and overfills my head with pressure of a need
or desire or a longing or a wishing to be dead
and escape from the tie of unholy memory.

Like a statue cold alone on a pedestal of old
should the past remain immobile in a brain
to receive, maybe need, passing acknowledgement
like you would a motorist giving right of way.

“Halt”, says the heart and it cannot restart
and “go”, says the mind down another road
and I listen and I hear some moments in the day
till night heralds in the silence of my soul.

Back and forth the pendulum of my energy
taps out its beat to the tune of memory!

Helen

Helen,
Food for thought in this one. I enjoyed and thanks.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

You caught me off guard as I usually think of a memory as sweet not unholy. I'll get over it but, not for awhile. Thank you.

Thank you Larry & Robert for reading.  How lucky to only have "sweet" memories but sometimes those can become unholy when not added to - especially if one would wish to do so.
